Job Title: EVS Housekeeper at SSM ($17 hr)

Job Description

This role provides essential housekeeping and environmental services in a hospital setting, ensuring that hallways, medical areas, bathrooms, and common spaces remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will perform a variety of janitorial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and general cleaning, while working independently during afternoon and evening hours from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hallways, medical building areas, and common spaces to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including fixtures, floors, and high-touch surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility, ensuring safe and tidy walkways.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas.
• Perform general janitorial duties such as dusting, wiping surfaces, and maintaining orderly spaces.
• Follow established environmental services procedures and cleaning protocols for a hospital environment.
• Work independently to complete assigned tasks within the scheduled shift time of 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and in accordance with guidelines.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning activities.

Essential Skills

• Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services roles.
• Proficiency in basic cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• Ability to perform general labor and janitorial duties in a hospital environment.
• Capability to work independently and manage assigned tasks without constant supervision.
• Good attitude and reliable work ethic.
• Comfort working an afternoon to late evening schedule, Monday through Friday (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospital housekeeping or environmental services.
• Familiarity with cleaning and sanitizing practices for medical or healthcare facilities.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness standards in high-traffic areas such as hallways and bathrooms.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in following cleaning procedures.

Work Environment

This position is based in a hospital setting, where cleanliness and safety are top priorities. You will work indoors, performing environmental services and janitorial tasks throughout the medical building, including hallways, bathrooms, and other patient and staff areas. The role follows a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 p.m. OR 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. You will use standard cleaning supplies and equipment such as mops, brooms, and trash receptacles, and follow established hospital cleaning protocols and procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
