Veterinary Hospital Receptionist

Join a busy, independent, family-owned veterinary hospital in the Charlotte, NC area as a Veterinary Hospital Receptionist. Reporting to the practice owner, you will support a balanced mix of veterinary services and help coordinate a typical daily volume of 25–50 appointments. This role places particular emphasis on client communication, appointment scheduling, and accurate records management.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and visitors, obtain pertinent information, and notify appropriate team members of arrivals.
• Schedule appointments and process clients and patients using practice software.
• Maintain accurate medical records and complete related data entry.
• Answer, route, and manage telephone calls using professional telephone etiquette.
• Accurately take and deliver messages while maintaining a log of calls requiring further action.
• Provide clear, courteous communication to clients regarding appointments and practice needs.
• Accept and sign for packages and notify recipients of their arrival.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and maintain a clean, orderly reception area.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry or hospital/reception experience.
• Experience with appointment scheduling and medical record management.
• Computer skills, including practice software, data entry, and related clerical tasks.
• Strong client service, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy veterinary hospital.
