RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.
Job Summary
Under Direction of the Large Animal Feed and Bedding Manager, order and maintain feed supply for multiple large animal species. Maintain patient stalls and holding areas. Transport large animal patients to various locations throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine complex. Provide patient care support to clinicians and technicians.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Current CA Class C driver's license.
- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- No minimum education required.
- Experience working with & handling large domestic farm animals in a veterinary clinic.
- Knowledge of feeds and feeding to identify the different feeds and proportions for patients in a large animal clinic setting.
- Skill to recognize & handle difficult/unpleasant situations & individuals.
- Skills to understand written instructions on patient care and basic care of large animals.
- Skill in using a pitchfork, shovel, broom, gas powered vacuum and high-pressure water hose.
- Skill to drive a truck, tractor & forklift, pull a train of dump carts of way wagons & back a single trailer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling, restraining & transporting large domestic animals.
- Experience with minor plumbing and mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of VMACS computer system.
- Knowledge of horse movement protocols at the Center for Equine Health and the Gourley Center.

Department Overview
The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is a unit that provides clinical case material in support of the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine on a 24-hour basis. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.
