This role focuses on disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of food production equipment and systems that transport product from kettles to filling machines. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of sanitation procedures and chemicals, and the ability to meet defined cleaning cycle times and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize kettles, plumbing, and production equipment per SSOPs, including manual scrubbing, power washing, and chemical application.
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment safely and correctly to enable thorough sanitation.
- Meet expected kettle cleaning cycle times of approximately 60–75 minutes after training.
- Handle, dilute, and document use of sanitation chemicals per procedures and MSDS guidance.
- Support QA verification by preparing equipment for swabbing and addressing findings to achieve release standards.
- Operate CIP systems where applicable and perform milk silo cleaning per standards.
- Maintain sanitation logs, master sanitation schedules, and daily paperwork accurately.
- Follow PPE and safety requirements and stay current with safety training.
- Respond to sanitation-related emergencies and provide training or coverage for team needs as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude to dismantle and reassemble production equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal sanitation procedures and SSOPs.
- Knowledge of chemical safety, dilution, and MSDS use; adherence to PPE requirements.
- Ability to complete sanitation documentation accurately using PC and proprietary software.
- Physical ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Fluency in reading and writing in English or Spanish due to onsite safety requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CIP operations and milk silo cleaning.
- Prior food manufacturing sanitation experience.
