I'm working with an independent wealth management firm in Northeast Ohio that added tax and accounting in 2025 by acquiring an established local CPA practice. They're now growing that side of the business, and they're hiring a Tax Senior Manager to help lead it.

\n

\n

Here's why this one is different. Wealth management drives the firm's revenue, not tax. So this role runs nothing like traditional public accounting: reasonable hours, no business development expectations, and a culture that genuinely values "better over bigger."

\n

\n

It also flips a dynamic a lot of tax pros know too well. At many firms, the rainmakers get the spotlight while the technically strong, client-focused accountants get overworked and overlooked. Here, that client-service accountant is the one who matters most. No pressure to go sell. Just space to do excellent work for the people you serve.

What you'd do

\n

\n
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local returns for individuals, trusts, gifts, partnerships, and S-corps
\n
• Lead tax planning and consulting engagements and serve as the primary point of contact for tax matters
\n
• Manage, review, and develop tax staff and engagements
\n
• Track tax law changes and translate the implications for clients and the internal team
\n
• Partner with the financial planning and investment team to deliver coordinated client solutions
\n

What you'd bring

\n

\n
• Bachelor's in Accounting and an active CPA license
\n
• 6+ years in a CPA firm or financial services firm
\n
• Experience with small business owners (roughly $1M to $30M in annual revenue)
\n
• Manager or Senior Manager level. Strong Directors who want to help lead a growing tax practice are encouraged too.
\n
• Thomson Reuters UltraTax and Practice CS experience is a plus
\n

• Base of $130,000 to $200,000 depending on experience
\n
• Equity opportunity for the right person
\n
• Work out of any of the firm's three Northeast Ohio offices (potential remote opportunity)
\n
