Quality Inspector
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Possible Saturdays: As department needs require
Pay: $17.00–$24.00/hr, depending on experience

Job Summary
This position is responsible for inspecting raw materials, processes, and products according to specifications and drawings, in order to ensure that only conforming products are produced and shipped to internal and external customers.
 
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
• Documents all inspection activities and inspection reports.
• Reads and interprets technical specifications, customer requirements, engineering drawings, directives and work instructions as applicable.
• Performs or oversees First-Article (Hot & Cold) visual and dimensional inspection on of forgings and/or machined products to ensure compliance with requirements, using blueprints, drawings, specifications and prior knowledge to evaluate potential deficiencies present in systems, processes or materials.
• Performs (Receiving, In-Process, Final) inspection at various points during the manufacturing process to verify dimensions and prevent/reduce rework and scrap.
• Reports nonconforming product and create NCRs as applicable.
• Maintains an adequate and appropriate inventory of inspection equipment and provides suitable storage and security.
 
TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES:
• Experience with measuring, monitoring, and NDE equipment
• Experience with calibrated tooling
• Experience with lifting equipment (Overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.)
• Safe operation of hand tools, electrical tools and high speed electrical tools (Grinders, etc.)
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of Quality System processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of materials, specifications, and tolerances.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions, drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and/or non-conformances in processes and products and coordinate corrective action.
• Ability to follow up on quality issues to ensure compliance.
• Ability to analyze processes inspection techniques, inspection equipment, statistical data, etc. in order to recommend improvements.
 
Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience.
• Experience in Dimensional and Visual Inspection
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and data entry.

Physical Requirements
• Standing, squatting, bending, sitting, and walking for 10 to 12 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to Production / Forging environment on daily basis.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures and different weather conditions
 
Safety Requirements
• Must wear required personal protective equipment when in designated areas
• Must comply with and follow all company policies related to Health and Safety
