Are you passionate about keeping people safe and fostering a positive work environment? We are seeking a proactive Safety Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be a daily, floor-level resource for team members, helping to identify hazards, support safety initiatives, and ensure everyone goes home safely every day. THIS POSITION IS PART TIME FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS IN DURATION!! Perfect fit for a student or someone recently retired that wants some extra money!!
Key Responsibilities
Team Member Engagement & Culture: Foster a strong safety culture by encouraging open reporting of unsafe practices, assisting front-line leaders with behavior-based safety initiatives, and meeting with Workers' Compensation claimants to support their recovery and restriction compliance.
Safety Program Management: Conduct regular floor observations alongside leadership to spot potential hazards, report findings to Operations or Safety, and recommend practical improvements.
Incident Investigation & Reporting: Assist with reporting workplace incidents and near-misses, and participate in root-cause investigations to implement effective corrective actions.
Safety Equipment & PPE: Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools across the facility through proactive reminders and floor presence.
Training Support: Deliver orientation sessions and subject-specific safety training to team members as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on safety experience or related education in an industrial environment or education.
Certifications & Education: OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and risk assessment procedures.
