Position: Controller Consultant
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)
Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 annually

NOW CFO is a national outsourced accounting and finance firm. We give businesses financial clarity and visibility through experienced consultants who partner with clients on the projects that matter most — cleanups, implementations, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and everything in between.

Our Consultants are full-time W-2 employees. You'll work with a variety of clients across industries, get exposure to different systems and business models, and never get stuck in the routine of a single seat.

About the Role

We're expanding our Phoenix team and looking for an experienced Controller Consultant who thrives on rolling up their sleeves, jumping into new environments, and delivering real financial impact.

As a Controller Consultant with NOW CFO, you'll partner with our clients to strengthen their financial operations — from GAAP-compliant reporting to strategic financial guidance. You'll help business owners understand what their numbers are telling them and give them the confidence to make better decisions.

What You'll Do

• Own the accounting and financial reporting function for client engagements
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Develop and implement financial strategies and internal controls
• Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and risk management support
• Guide clients on GAAP compliance and best practices
• Improve financial performance and clean up legacy issues
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to client leadership

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Prior Controller-level experience (multi-industry exposure preferred)
• Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting depth
• Internal audit experience
• CPA preferred, not required
• Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
• Willingness to commute to different client sites in the Phoenix metro area
