Far Hills OB/GYN is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our clinical team.

Our Medical Assistants work closely with our physicians and patients and are an essential part of providing high-quality women’s healthcare. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment, takes pride in providing excellent patient care, and works well as part of a team.

As a Medical Assistant at Far Hills OB/GYN, you will have the opportunity to care for women throughout many stages of life—from routine gynecologic care and pregnancy to postpartum care and other women’s health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for examinations and procedures
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and reason for visit
• Review and update patient information in the electronic medical record
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available
• Assist physicians with routine gynecologic examinations and office procedures
• Assist with obstetric visits and pregnancy-related care
• Perform urine testing, pregnancy testing, and other approved point-of-care testing
• Collect, label, document, and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
• Administer medications and injections as ordered and within applicable scope of practice
• Assist with patient education and physician instructions
• Document patient care and communications accurately in the electronic medical record
• Manage physician and clinical messages through eClinicalWorks (eCW)
• Answer and return patient phone calls as directed
• Communicate physician recommendations, test information, and follow-up instructions as appropriate
• Assist with prescription and refill requests according to physician and practice protocols
• Obtain or assist with prior authorizations when necessary
• Review incoming laboratory, imaging, and medical records and route them appropriately
• Prepare charts and assist physicians with maintaining an efficient daily schedule
• Coordinate with front desk, scheduling, billing, ultrasound, and other clinical team members
• Maintain appropriate infection-control procedures and keep examination rooms clean and properly stocked
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, bloodborne pathogen, and practice safety requirements
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Assist other physicians and clinical team members when needed
• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
• OB/GYN or women's health experience is a plus
• Strong clinical and patient-care skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable communicating with patients by phone and electronically
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn medical software
• eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environment
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining compassionate patient care
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist wherever needed

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Specific schedules and physician assignments will be discussed during the interview process.
