Job Description
Customer Service Associate
Murrplastik Systems, Inc. provides cable management solutions for the industrial automation industry. Our product portfolio includes cable protection, cable marking and labeling, automation, robotic equipment, and related industrial solutions. Our products are used across a wide range of industries, including automotive, rail, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, medical engineering, packaging, woodworking, and industrial manufacturing.

Murrplastik Systems has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Associate at our Milford, Ohio location.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with computers and business software, and capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy while handling a large volume of customer requests, sales orders, quotes, emails, and other transactions throughout the day.
This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position where accurate data entry and follow-through are essential.
Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, including a one-hour lunch break.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process customer purchase orders and enter sales orders accurately into our ERP system
- Review customer purchase orders carefully for part numbers, quantities, pricing, shipping instructions, customer information, and other order requirements
- Handle a high volume of incoming emails, phone calls, orders, quotes, and customer requests while maintaining accuracy and organization
- Prepare customer quotations using established pricing, product, packaging, and quantity information
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status, availability, lead times, pricing, product information, shipping, and general account questions
- Enter and maintain accurate customer, order, quote, shipping, and product-related information within our ERP and customer service systems
- Identify discrepancies or incomplete information on customer orders and obtain clarification before processing
- Understand and follow customer-specific pricing, packaging quantities, minimum order quantities, freight requirements, and other order instructions
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding order status, inventory, shipments, packing slips, returns, and customer requests
- Coordinate with the sales team regarding pricing, product selection, customer issues, quotes, and order requirements
- Process sample requests, return requests, RMAs, credits, and other customer service transactions
- Provide customers with order confirmations, packing slips, tracking information, and other requested documentation
- Maintain accurate documentation of customer communications and actions taken
- Recognize issues that require escalation and communicate them promptly to the appropriate person or department
- Manage multiple open requests and follow up on outstanding items without requiring continuous reminders
- Follow established procedures, SOPs, pricing guidelines, and company policies
- Maintain professional communication with customers, coworkers, distributors, sales representatives, and international colleagues
- Assist other members of the customer service team as workload requires
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data entry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume office environment
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work across multiple programs, screens, browser tabs, emails, documents, and systems throughout the day
- Comfortable learning and navigating ERP, CRM, ticketing, shipping, and other business software
- Strong Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and general Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to accurately copy, enter, verify, and compare part numbers, purchase order numbers, quantities, pricing, addresses, and other detailed information
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple customer requests and assignments simultaneously
- Ability to follow written procedures and retain previously provided training and instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to investigate information before asking for assistance
- Ability to recognize when information appears incorrect or inconsistent and ask appropriate questions before proceeding
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional phone and email etiquette
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to accept feedback, learn from mistakes, and apply corrections to future work
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in customer service, order entry, inside sales support, purchasing, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing
- Previous experience processing purchase orders or sales orders
- ERP experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Sage 100 is a plus
- Experience working with industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or technical products is a plus
- Experience working in an environment with a large number of SKUs, part numbers, or customer-specific requirements is strongly preferred
Education
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate Degree required
