Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronic Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic and control systems used in hydraulic fracturing equipment. This role is critical to ensuring reliable performance, safety, and minimal downtime in field operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electronic systems on frac equipment, including control panels, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, and data acquisition systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical and communication issues (CANbus, Ethernet, serial networks, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on electronic components
  • Support rig-up, rig-down, and commissioning of frac spreads
  • Calibrate and test instrumentation and control systems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Work closely with mechanics, operators, and engineers to resolve equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical degree or certification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electronic Technician, preferably in oilfield or frac operations
  • Strong knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, and control systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting under high-pressure, fast-paced field conditions
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and laptops
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel or work rotational schedules
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with frac control systems and data vans
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems
  • Familiarity with OEM frac equipment and automation platforms
  • Basic networking and software troubleshooting experience

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb equipment as needed
  • Willingness to work long hours, nights, and rotational schedules
