Compassionate ABA & Therapeutic Services (CABATS)
Location: Manassas, VA / Springfield, VA
Position: Floater Behavior Technician (BT) – Clinic-Based
Schedule: 1:00PM-7:00PM
Position Overview
CABATS is seeking a dependable and flexible Floater Behavior Technician (BT) to provide direct ABA therapy and coverage when regularly assigned staff are unavailable. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with different clients, can adapt quickly, and is interested in gaining broad experience in ABA.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for staff absences, call-outs, vacancies, and scheduling gaps.
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children with autism and developmental needs.
- Implement treatment programs and behavior plans under supervisor direction.
- Work with a variety of clients with different communication, behavioral, and developmental needs.
- Collect accurate behavioral and skill-acquisition data.
- Use reinforcement, prompting, FCT, and other ABA strategies as trained.
- Complete session notes and required documentation on time.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding client progress, behaviors, and concerns.
- Maintain client safety and follow all CABATS clinical policies.
- Be flexible with client assignments and scheduling based on clinic needs.
Qualifications
- RBT certification is NOT required — training and support toward becoming an RBT may be provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Interest in ABA, psychology, education, special education, or a related field.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned locations when needed.
- Strong attendance, communication, professionalism, and flexibility are essential.
