Facility Cook

The Facility Cook prepares nutritious, appealing meals for a senior living community, typically serving fewer than 50 residents per meal service. Reporting to the Facility Administrator, this role supports therapeutic, religious or cultural, and allergen-free dietary requirements while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus, recipes, and resident dietary requirements.
• Plan menus that support therapeutic, religious or cultural, and allergen-free diets.
• Order ingredients and track inventory to maintain appropriate food supplies.
• Control portions and scale recipes to meet service needs.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and comply with food safety and HACCP practices.
• Monitor meal quality, presentation, and timely service for fewer than 50 meals per service.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report repair or maintenance needs.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents and respond appropriately to meal-related needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of institutional food service experience.
• Culinary arts or food service training.
• Food Handler certification.
• Experience with institutional cooking and menu planning.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP practices.
• Experience with inventory management and recipe scaling.
• Experience preparing dietary modifications.
• Strong time management and teamwork skills.
