Electronics Rework Technician – Hillsboro, OR

Cascade Systems Technology, LLC is a trusted provider of advanced electronics manufacturing and electronics assembly services. Cascade Systems Technology is looking for an Electronics Rework Technician to ensure the quality and reliability of electronic assemblies and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies by performing electronic inspection, electronic repair, soldering, and circuit board repair to meet IPC and customer requirements. In this role, you'll perform hand soldering, component-level soldering and electronic repair, component replacement, SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole assembly rework, and microscope inspection to identify and correct assembly defects.. This position requires schedule flexibility, including overtime as needed. Shifts may begin as early as 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. and can include up to 10-hour workdays. Duties:

· Electronic inspection of assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies for workmanship, component placement, solder quality, polarity, orientation, and compliance with applicable standards.

· Perform touch up and rework of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole assembly components using approved soldering and hand soldering techniques and equipment.

· Remove and replace electronic components, including integrated circuits (ICs), resistors, capacitors, connectors, and other electronic devices.

· Perform hand soldering, de-soldering, component replacement, and PCB/circuit board repair as required.

· Perform microscope inspection though utilizing microscopes, magnification equipment, and inspection tools to identify defects and verify repairs.

· Perform rework and modifications in accordance with engineering instructions and customer requirements.

· Verify proper component values, locations, orientation, and polarity prior to rework activities.

· Complete all production records, rework logs, repair documentation, and traceability records as required.

· Identify and communicate quality concerns, recurring defects, and process issues to the supervisor or team lead within fifteen (15) minutes of discovery.

· Follow established workmanship standards, IPC guidelines, and company quality procedures.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Minimum two (2) years of experience in electronics manufacturing, electronics assembly, PCB/printed circuit board assembly, SMT/Surface Mount Technology, through-hole assembly, soldering, hand soldering, electronic inspection, electronic repair, or circuit board repair preferred.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to read and comprehend assembly drawings, work instructions, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical documentation.

· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Must be able to learn and work within Lean Manufacturing principles and processes.

· Ability to identify electronic components, component markings, and part numbers.

· Ability to learn and follow ISO 9000 quality processes.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and able to learn company-specific software systems.

· Must be eligible to work in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.

· Understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards preferred.

· Experience working under ISO quality systems preferred.

· IPC-A-610 Certification preferred.

· IPC J-STD-001 Certification preferred.

· IPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification preferred.

· Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
