Direct Support Professional DSP

Direct Support Professionals are part of our team responsible for assisting each individual with developmental disabilities to live a safe, enjoyable life in their home and community with opportunities to learn and to develop increasing independence and control over their lives.  The DSP will empower the individual, by providing the support and information necessary to make informed choices and decisions, help build self-esteem and assertiveness in order to lead a life of their choosing. The DSP Provides support with the following tasks (but not limited to):  cooking/meal planning, shopping, budgeting/money management, developing friendships, physical and emotional support, recreational activities, eating, grooming, personal care, hygiene tasks, toileting, laundry, housekeeping tasks. Assists with mobility including walking, lifting, transfers (mechanical lifts) from seated/standing/laying down positions from wheelchair, furniture, bed.
