Long Term Temporary, Possible Temp to Hire, Labor & Employee Relations Representative opportunity available in New York City.


Responsibilities

Employee & Labor Relations (ER/LR)

  • Resolve inquiries; Answer employee relations questions using knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and policies.
  • Guide management; Coach and consult with managers to handle personnel matters effectively.
  • Mediate conflict; Resolve workplace concerns and interpersonal disputes between staff and management.
  • Coordinate union relations; Collaborate with union reps on site visits, staff releases, and joint trainings.

Investigations & Grievances

  • Manage grievances; Review union complaints, lead fact-finding activities, and research confidential investigations.
  • Review discipline; Audit disciplinary actions from managers for accuracy and compliance before they are issued.
  • Prepare cases; Gather, organize, and format documentation for grievance hearings and arbitrations.

Bargaining & Contract Support

  • Interpret the CBA; Apply contract provisions and help the Senior Manager develop labor strategies.
  • Support negotiations; Collect data, analyze union proposals, and draft contract negotiation materials.
  • Document meetings; Attend labor relations meetings and write accurate summaries and minutes.

Training & Administration

  • Co-facilitate workshops; Lead employee training sessions on policies, attendance, and compliance.
  • Draft communications; Write reports, memos, and correspondence based on data research.
  • Assist with special projects; Support initiatives related to process improvements, production standards, and policy revisions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in Labor/Employee Relations required
  • Excellent customer service, written/verbal communications, analytical and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills
