Job Description
Role Overview
- Job Title: CAD Technician
- Location: Princeton, IN (100% Onsite)
- Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
- Schedule: Regular hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Travel: Up to 20% yearly (mainly domestic; occasional international travel to Japan for meetings/observations after 3 months on the job).
- Target Experience: 2+ years of experience OR a motivated recent graduate with strong, hands-on simulation and modeling experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- 3D Studies & Simulations (40%): Handling FEA, layout updates, 3D assembly management, and heavy AutoCAD modeling simulations.
- Simultaneous Engineering (40%): Managing data and engineering studies for vehicle assembly.
- Project Planning (20%): Supporting project planning for upcoming model changes.
- Collaboration: Working closely with internal and external divisions across Toyota (including international teams).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Tech, Computer Integrated Technology, or a dedicated CAD degree.
- Software Fluency: Proficiency in AutoCAD, along with Catia, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T, drafting techniques, and engineering terminology.
- Emerging Tech: Experience or fluency with 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies.
- Requirements: A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record. Note: The role requires personal steel-toed shoes (other required PPE kits will be provided).
- Bonus Points: Certifications in FEA, CAD, or 3D modeling/simulation are a major plus.
