Benefits Specialist

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a local transit organization, and together we are recruiting for strong Benefits Specialists for immediate opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced customer service and benefits professionals to support employees and retirees during the annual Open Enrollment period. The ideal candidates will have outstanding communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and retirees regarding benefit-related questions.
• Answer inbound calls related to health, dental, vision, and other employee benefit programs.
• Explain benefit plan options, enrollment procedures, eligibility requirements, and important deadlines.
• Assist employees with navigating online enrollment systems and resolving basic system-related issues.
• Accurately document employee inquiries and interactions.
• Escalate complex benefits, payroll, or system-related concerns to the appropriate internal teams.
• Support open enrollment communication efforts and employee outreach initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and benefits information.
• Meet established service level expectations for responsiveness and customer service quality.

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in benefits administration, human resources, customer service, or a call center environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex information in a clear, professional, and customer-friendly manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing a high volume of inquiries.
• Experience supporting employee benefits programs.
• Familiarity with HRIS or benefits administration systems.
• Knowledge of open enrollment processes and employee benefits terminology.

This job is In-Person.

Pay Range: Hourly $30.00 to $34.00
