Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setup & Maintenance Technician / Job Setter to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing rapid product changeovers, performing machine setups, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment issues, and ensuring our production lines run safely, efficiently, and to exact quality specifications.

Key ResponsibilitiesJob Setups & Changeovers
Perform product changeovers, converting machine setups between product variants to meet the daily production schedule.
Enter and adjust measurements, offsets, recipes, and machine parameters through the HMI (Human-Machine Interface).
Adjust, change, and align tooling, fixtures, part holders, nests, and guides to accommodate product variations.
Perform first-piece setup and verify parts against engineering drawings and specifications before releasing the machine to production.
Make in-process adjustments to maintain dimensional and quality requirements, correcting drift or variation as it occurs.
Reduce setup time by standardizing changeover steps, organizing tooling, and recommending quick-change improvements.
Create and maintain setup sheets, parameter records, and changeover instructions for each product.
Machine Operation & Support
Operate, adjust, calibrate, and maintain production machines and equipment.
Run production equipment as needed, including during startup, debugging, and changeover validation.
Monitor machine performance and part quality during runs, intervening proactively to prevent scrap or downtime.
Support the training of machine operators on proper setup checks, basic adjustments, and escalation protocols.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform planned and preventive maintenance, including lubrication, inspections, belt/bearing replacements, and general cleaning.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control-related faults on production machines.
Diagnose issues using sensor and I/O status, as well as HMI alarms.
Replace and adjust sensors, actuators, cylinders, motors, and other wear components.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, downtime causes, and parts inventory.
Tooling & Quality Testing
Inspect tooling for wear and damage; track tooling condition and spare parts inventory.
Repair or replace tooling as needed and collaborate with engineering on new tooling/fixture designs.
Set up standard test apparatus/devices and perform product functional testing or quality control verifications.
Experience: 2+ years of experience as a job setter, setup technician, or maintenance technician in a production environment (preferred).
Technical Background: 2+ years working with manufacturing equipment involving automation, electrical, and mechanical systems. Hands-on mechanical/electrical repair experience (automotive, HVAC, appliances, electronics) is a strong plus.
Systems Knowledge: Experience making setup changes through an HMI, including entering offsets, parameters, and recipes.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems repair, rework, and assembly.
Working knowledge of pneumatics, sensors, motors, and basic PLC-controlled equipment.
Proficiency with measurement and gauging tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and pin gauges).
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, mechanical drawings, GD&T, and electrical schematics.
Education: Technical diploma or associate degree in electromechanics, industrial maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
Safety & Compliance: Strong understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding practices. Commitment to following all safety protocols and company policies.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work safely around moving machinery. Flexibility to support extended hours or shift coverage during changeovers or breakdowns as needed.
