Certified Phlebotomist (Contract Role)

Medix Healthcare is immediately hiring an experienced Certified Phlebotomist in El Paso, TX!

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced (Certified) Phlebotomist to join a busy outpatient oncology clinic. This is a great opportunity to work closely with patients, providers, and laboratory staff while gaining valuable experience in a specialty healthcare setting.

Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-3:30 PM (MUST be available during these hours)
No weekends required

• Perform venipuncture and collect blood/specimens from patients
• Work with patients receiving provider care and outpatient infusion treatments
• Properly label, process, and prepare specimens for testing
• Follow OSHA, Universal Precautions, and laboratory safety procedures
• Document and maintain accurate patient and specimen information
• Communicate professionally with patients, coworkers, and outside laboratories
• Navigate EMR and laboratory management systems
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and inventory
• Provide compassionate patient care and help patients feel comfortable during blood draws
• Recognize difficult draws and appropriately request assistance when needed
• Assist with additional clinic duties as needed

• Previous professional phlebotomy experience, MUST be certified!
• Phlebotomy certification preferred/required based on applicable requirements
• Comfortable performing blood draws on a variety of patients
• Strong attention to detail and specimen-labeling accuracy
• Experience with EMR systems
• Strong communication and patient-service skills
• Ability to work independently while being a team player
• Reliable, organized, and professional work ethic

Candidates must be comfortable completing:

• Background check
• Drug screening
• Clinic-required titers/health screening
