Job Title: Driver / Shipping & Receiving AssociateJob Description

This role combines professional driving with hands-on shipping, receiving, and warehouse responsibilities. You will handle incoming and outgoing shipments, verify and document deliveries, organize materials, and operate material handling equipment while safely driving a company vehicle to make scheduled deliveries and pickups. You ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company procedures across all shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.

Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments from suppliers and vendors and ensure they follow established procedures.
  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and damage, and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Record and report any discrepancies, damages, or issues to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Label, sort, and organize received materials for proper storage or distribution within the facility.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery to customers or other facilities, ensuring all items match shipping documents.
  • Package items securely to prevent damage during transit and follow company packaging standards.
  • Generate shipping labels and documentation using shipping software and maintain accurate shipping records.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics companies to schedule pickups and deliveries and confirm arrangements as needed.
  • Ensure all shipments are accurately labeled and comply with applicable shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload parts or materials from delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move, store, and stage materials.
  • Drive a company vehicle, including a sprinter van, to make deliveries and pickups from customers and vendors up to 612 hours per week.
  • Perform vehicle safety checks in line with company standard operating procedures and report any vehicle defects, mechanical issues, or accidents immediately.
  • Support inventory transactions by accurately recording movements of materials in the shipping and receiving areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the warehouse, shipping, and receiving zones.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines, road safety rules, and driving laws while operating the company vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors to coordinate shipments and resolve issues.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including loading, unloading, and inventory support, as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record and no recent moving violations or accidents.
  • In-depth knowledge of road safety and driving laws and ability to apply them consistently.
  • Ability to perform thorough vehicle safety checks according to company standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to drive a sprinter van safely and confidently for deliveries and pickups.
  • 2 or more years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory, or warehouse operations.
  • Prior experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Familiarity with shipping software for generating labels and documentation.
  • Experience with inventory management systems to support accurate record-keeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods while performing warehouse and driving duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Forklift certification preferred and ability to operate forklifts in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience as a material handler, inventory associate, or in similar warehouse roles.
  • Customer service experience when interacting with customers and vendors during deliveries and pickups.
  • Ability to manage loading and unloading activities efficiently and safely.
  • Comfort working with shipping and receiving documentation and basic computer systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
