Confidential Law Firm | Hybrid/Remote Direct Hire | California: $27-$55/hr | Illinois: $29-$59/hr
LHH is recruiting on behalf of a confidential law firm seeking an IP Docketing Specialist to support a sophisticated patent prosecution practice. This role is responsible for managing U.S. and foreign patent prosecution deadlines, maintaining docket records, and supporting attorneys and legal professionals in a fast-paced intellectual property environment.

LHH is recruiting on behalf of a confidential law firm seeking an IP Docketing Specialist to support a sophisticated patent prosecution practice. This role is responsible for managing U.S. and foreign patent prosecution deadlines, maintaining docket records, and supporting attorneys and legal professionals in a fast-paced intellectual property environment.
Responsibilities
- Review patent-related correspondence, filings, and communications to identify and calculate critical deadlines.
- Maintain and update patent prosecution dockets and calendaring systems.
- Monitor daily docket activity and follow up on upcoming deadlines.
- Prepare docket reports for attorneys and legal staff.
- Update docket records based on attorney instructions and client communications.
- Assist with quality control and accuracy of docket entries.
- Review USPTO filing receipts and related documentation.
- Minimum 3 years of U.S. and/or foreign patent prosecution docketing experience.
- Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and patent prosecution practices.
- Experience with patent docketing systems such as CPI, Inprotech, Foundation IP, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- Stable employment history preferred.
- Flexible hybrid/remote work arrangement with occasional office visits as needed.
