Job Description
The Lab Technician / Research Assistant will train under direct supervision to perform clinical embryology and laboratory support tasks. This role is responsible for aseptic lab preparation, specimen tracking, electronic records management, quality control, and inventory oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Lab Operations & Clinical Support: Prepare culture dishes, media, and materials using aseptic technique for lab procedures (egg retrievals, insemination, cryopreservation, warming, embryo culture, and transfer).
Specimen & Genetic Testing Management: Manage specimen chain-of-custody, perform electronic witnessing, and facilitate pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) by handling requisitions, kit packaging, shipping, and logging results.
Documentation & Data Entry: Enter patient data, maintain embryology worksheets, and accurately update Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Quality Control & Safety: Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual QC checks on equipment (including incubator pH testing). Maintain lab cleanliness and follow OSHA, EH&S, HIPAA, and PPE protocols.
Inventory & Administration: Track and manage weekly/biweekly inventory of media and consumables, restock supplies, escalate low stock, and assist with lab inspection prep.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills: Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong service orientation.
Technical: Proficiency in Electronic Health Systems (EHR/EMR), Microsoft Excel, Word, and email systems.
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of hands-on experience in an embryology, andrology, or clinical laboratory setting.
Prior experience with fertility procedures and Electronic Medical Records systems.

Full-Time Hybrid (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)\

- Minimum of $28 an hour
