Senior Cloud & Identity Engineer Needed as This New England Organization Scales Its Azure Environment
\nLocation: This role is remote-first, but requires residency in MA, RI, CT, or NH (with occasional travel to offices across the Northeast).
\nCompensation: Base salary in the $150-$165K range depending on experience, plus a performance bonus typically around 10% (up to 15%), three weeks of vacation, phone/internet and tech stipends, and a strong 401(k).
\nA well-established, growing professional organization based in New England has moved roughly 80% of its workloads to the cloud — and the small team that got them there is now at capacity. This is a newly created seat, not a backfill, on a lean, highly collaborative infrastructure team that needs a senior, hands-on engineer to help carry the load across Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and cloud security.
\nIf you're the person on your current team who owns identity, SSO/MFA, and endpoint management — and you're ready for more ownership instead of more tickets — this is worth a conversation.
\nWhat You'll Own
\nYou'll partner directly with the organization's existing Cloud Engineer to manage and grow the Azure environment, with heavy day-to-day focus on:

- Microsoft Entra ID administration — SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC, enterprise app integrations, and security policy for a portfolio of 60+ connected SaaS applications \n
- Microsoft Intune — device enrollment, configuration and compliance policies, app deployment, and troubleshooting, including an active rollout of Intune across the laptop fleet \n
- Cloud security posture work alongside the InfoSec team, using Microsoft Defender and related tools to close security findings and support audits \n
- Second- and third-level support for complex infrastructure, identity, and application issues escalated from the service desk \n
- Cloud-based application support, including SQL/PaaS environments, plus participation in new SaaS and cloud implementations \n
As the organization continues consolidating its data centers, you'll also have a clear runway to grow into broader Azure IaaS responsibilities — VMs, networking, storage, backup/recovery — over time.
\nWhat You Bring
\n- \n
- 5-7+ years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience with strong, hands-on Azure chops in a real enterprise environment \n
- Deep comfort in Entra ID (SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC) and SaaS integration/identity administration \n
- Practical Intune administration experience — not just theory, but actual device management, deployment, and troubleshooting \n
- A security-first mindset, ideally backed by experience with Defender or a comparable Microsoft security stack \n
- A generalist streak — you're just as comfortable architecting a solution as you are jumping into a gnarly 2nd/3rd-level ticket, and you don't need rigid lane markers to do good work \n
Nice to have but not required: experience in a highly regulated or compliance-driven environment (professional services, banking, insurance, healthcare), Azure IaaS/PaaS exposure, SharePoint/Power Platform experience, or an Azure certification (Administrator, Security Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Network Engineer).
