Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role requiring 2+ years of vascular/IR experience and Hybrid OR familiarity.
Details
- Imaging support in the OR for vascular IR cases
- 13-week assignment
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Rotating call every 4th week
- Works in Hybrid OR, Interventional Radiology, and Special Procedures settings
- Uses Siemens imaging equipment and ultrasound
- Utilizes EPIC for pulling inventory and ordering cases prior to procedures
- Uses HI-IQ to document and add inventory used during cases
- In downtime, supports simple surgical cases using C-arm alongside X-ray staff for procedures such as Impellas and cystoscopies
Requirements
- ARRT (VI) and BLS required
- VA state license required if applicable, pending license accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Strong vascular/IR experience required
- Familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures required
- Ability to work independently required
- Experience with angioplasty, endovascular interventions (EVAR, TEVAR), thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography required
- Carotid stenting experience preferred
- Experience prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
- EPIC experience required
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Responsible for running the table and controls during cases, performing 3D spins, and working with fusion technology
- Actively engaged throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
- Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural staff
- Ideal candidate is comfortable being actively involved in the entire case workflow rather than simply operating equipment
- Must float within scope of practice as needed
- 50-mile radius rule applies for this unit
- Local candidates not accepted for this unit
- Previous UVA employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval to return as travelers
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
