Job Description
SUMMARY:
This position will receive, store and issue materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse to fill customers’ orders in our Merced, CA facility. This person must verify and keep records and prepare items for incoming and outgoing shipments. This person’s duties include shipping merchandise or material, receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, railcars, or lifting devices.
- Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors.
- Keep records on the use and/ or damage of stock or stock handling equipment
- Drive fork trucks in order to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.
- Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
