About this job
Job Description
Are you fast? Organized? Weirdly good at finding things? Not afraid of stairs?
Perfect. We may have found your calling.
We’re looking for a Housekeeping Runner — aka the person who keeps our housekeeping operation from descending into complete chaos. Our housekeepers are busy making vacation rentals sparkle. Your job is to make sure they have what they need, when they need it. Need towels? You’re on it. Out of toilet paper? You’re already moving. Housekeeper needs sheets three floors up? Congratulations on your complimentary stair workout. Someone says, “Hey, can you run this over to Unit 214?” That’s literally the job.
You’ll spend your shift moving throughout the property, delivering and stocking linens, supplies, housekeeping bags, and other necessities that keep our cleaning team moving.
This is not a sit-at-a-desk-and-check-your-email kind of job.
You’ll regularly:
- Carry, lift, push, and move items weighing 25–30 pounds
- Deliver linens and supplies throughout the property
- Carry housekeeping supplies up and down multiple flights of stairs
- Stock and organize housekeeping supplies
- Walk. A lot.
- Stand, bend, reach, stoop, squat, and climb stairs throughout your shift
- Work both indoors and outdoors
- Travel between different areas of the property
- Help solve the inevitable “We need this in Unit ___ RIGHT NOW” situation
- Keep the housekeeping team supplied, organized, and moving
Basically, if you hate sitting still, you might love this job.
This is a part-time position, but don't get too attached to the word “part-time.”
During our busy summer and peak seasons, there is the potential for your hours to increase significantly. Typical shifts begin around 10:00 a.m. and end when the day's assigned duties are finished. We manage vacation rentals, which means our workload depends on when guests come and go. Some days are lighter. Some days everyone apparently decided to vacation at the exact same time.
Flexibility is important.
And yes… weekends and holidays are required. People LOVE vacationing on weekends and holidays. We have tried asking them to stop. They have declined.
Bonus points if you're dependable, have a sense of humor, can keep track of multiple requests at once, and aren't personally offended by stairs.
Housekeeping is one of the most important parts of the vacation rental business — and the Runner is one of the people who keeps the entire operation moving. You'll work with a team that works hard, moves fast, laughs a lot, and understands that sometimes the difference between a crisis and a great guest experience is simply getting a clean set of sheets to the right place at the right time. Think you can keep up? Apply today. Your step counter is going to LOVE you.
