Direct Suppot Staff

Direct Support Staff provide compassionate, person-centered support to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a residential home setting. The role includes assisting with personal care and daily living needs, promoting safety and independence, supporting medication administration, and maintaining a clean, supportive environment. Personal care responsibilities vary by individual, with documentation completed on paper.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care tailored to each individual’s needs.
• Support daily living activities, including dressing and grooming.
• Monitor safety and respond appropriately to individual needs.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Support activities of daily living and person-centered care.
• Provide behavior support as needed.
• Complete incident documentation and other required paper documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe residential environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in direct support services.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Basic group home curriculum knowledge.
• Experience with person-centered care and activities of daily living.
• Behavior support experience.
• Strong communication and incident documentation skills.
• Medication administration experience.
