Job Description
The EVS Technician plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This position focuses on cleaning patient rooms, discharge rooms, and public areas such as lobbies and restrooms, while consistently meeting strict sanitation standards to support patient care and overall safety.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including occupied and discharge rooms, according to hospital standards and protocols.
- Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other common spaces throughout the facility.
- Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in patient rooms and public areas to ensure a clean and orderly appearance.
- Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash, recycling, and soiled laundry from designated areas.
- Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and other cleaning materials as needed.
- Follow established infection control and sanitation procedures to support patient and staff safety.
- Adhere to safety guidelines while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Work scheduled shifts on a rotating weekend basis to support a 24/7 hospital operation.
- Perform additional cleaning and housekeeping tasks as assigned to meet evolving needs within the hospital.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
- Experience in a hospital or hotel environment is preferred.
- Comfort working in a medical setting, including exposure to blood, trauma, and other clinical situations.
- Ability to lift and push 5075 pounds as part of daily duties.
- Ability to stand and walk for 68 hours per day in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards.
- Reliability and willingness to work rotating weekends to support continuous hospital operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in environmental services or professional housekeeping is an advantage.
- Familiarity with hospital cleaning protocols and infection control procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow into more advanced roles within environmental services.

Work Environment
The position is based in a fast-paced hospital environment where everyone works closely together to support patient care. The facility is well maintained and places a strong emphasis on cleanliness and high performance from the environmental services team. EVS Technicians work on 1st shift (7:00 a.m.3:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.11:30 p.m.), with rotating weekend schedules to support a 24/7 operation. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and pushing of carts and equipment in a clinical setting that may include exposure to blood and trauma, while following strict safety and sanitation protocols.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
