Required Skills & Experience
*2–3+ years of experience in data center, telecom, or IT infrastructure environments
*Hands-on experience with cabling, hardware installation, equipment replacement, and troubleshooting
*Strong understanding of structured cabling and data center best practices
*Troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 connectivity issues across network and server environments
*Diagnose and resolve server, hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues in production environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
*Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or other networking certifications
*Experience troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, or similar networking environments
*Experience consoling into network devices and performing basic network configurations
*Knowledge of Layer 2 switching technologies, VLANs, STP, and port troubleshooting
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking Data Center Technicians I and II to support large-scale data center operations, deployments, and critical infrastructure projects throughout Canada. These individuals will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting network, server, and data center infrastructure in live production environments.
This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, including Level 2 support experience, to diagnose and resolve hardware, connectivity, and network-related issues. Technicians will support rack and stack deployments, structured cabling systems, server installations, network connectivity, and incident response activities within enterprise-scale data centers.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling, network infrastructure, hardware installation, and data center operations. Candidates should be comfortable troubleshooting servers, switches, network connectivity, physical layer infrastructure, and other critical systems while maintaining uptime and adhering to operational standards.
Successful candidates will possess a strong understanding of physical and logical network infrastructure, including fiber optic systems, structured cabling, servers, switches, routers, cabinets, and connectivity protocols. They should be able to interpret technical documentation, follow installation standards, and effectively troubleshoot issues in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
