Job Title
Registered Nurse – CVICU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights based on unit needs) | Every other weekend and holiday expected | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Manage 1–2 critically ill patients across varying populations including neuro, cardiac, cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients
- Titrate vasopressor, sedative, analgesic, inotropic, antiarrhythmic, and other titratable drips independently
- Assist with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and central line placement
- Operate unit equipment including IABP, Impella, EVD systems, and Phillips patient monitoring systems
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
- Float as needed to critical care departments and medical-surgical units within the facility, with ratios up to 4:1 in intermediate care settings
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a 200+ bed, Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Charge nurse and/or preceptor experience required
- BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification required
- Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state required
- Demonstrated experience titrating vasopressor drips (must be reflected on resume or skills checklist)
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a reduced rate
- Familiarity with Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets, Aleris IV pumps, and MOOG feeding pumps
- Experience with AvaSure patient monitoring systems
- Comfort with self-scheduling in a dynamic, rotating shift environment
- Work in a 32-bed critical care unit with a strong 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and access to advanced critical care technology
- Structured orientation program spanning the first week of assignment, covering the primary unit as well as affiliated critical care departments
