Job Title

Registered Nurse – Electrophysiology (EP)

Location

New York, NY | Cardiac Cath Lab / EP

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days, with some evenings, holidays, and on-call per unit needs | Expected 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Function as the primary nurse or circulator during electrophysiology procedures, including patient assessment, medication administration, safety review, clinical documentation in Epic, and coordination of care before, during, and immediately following procedures
• Prior to procedures, review patient medical history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, IV access, and procedural orders; identify patient-specific risks and coordinate with the Electrophysiologist, Anesthesia, APPs, holding/recovery staff, and the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications within scope and order parameters, manage moderate sedation when applicable, and communicate changes in patient condition to the procedural team; provide backup pacing support during cardiac implant procedures as required
• In the circulator role, obtain and open sterile supplies, pull equipment, assist with room setup and turnover, maintain appropriate fluids and supplies for ablation procedures, and ensure necessary equipment is available throughout the case
• Communicate effectively with physicians and in-room staff to support timely room starts and turnover; coordinate with the Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to ensure all team members are available for scheduled procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active New York (NY) RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Proficiency in moderate sedation
• Proficiency with Epic for procedural documentation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience preferred but not required
• Familiarity with EP mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott EnSite X, Boston Scientific Opal, or Medtronic Affera
• Experience with EP procedures including PFA/RF/cryo ablations, device implants (pacemakers, ICDs, leadless PPM), LAAC (Watchman/Amulet), and loop recorders
