Travel RN – Medical Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups, including medical, telemetry, and cardiac overflow patients
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
• Perform and demonstrate competence in drug titration as required for the unit population
• Float on a rotational basis as required by the facility
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NIHSS certification — may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to start date
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring equipment, IV pumps, lift equipment, and tube feeding pumps
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Experience caring for cardiac overflow and medical/medical-telemetry patient populations
• Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced inpatient environment
