Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Overflow) – Nights

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (19:00–07:00) | 26-week assignment (13-week option available by request) | Expected 36 or 48 hours per week based on candidate preference | Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across a Medical Surgical Telemetry Overflow unit
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Manage cardiac drips and operate EKG machines for patients presenting with conditions such as acute AFIB onset, CHF exacerbations, post-operative vascular, and cardiac heart and valve surgeries
• Utilize standard telemetry unit equipment including chest tubes, drains, and other cardiac devices
• Float throughout Medical Surgical units as needed; patient ratios are 5–6:1 when floating, and 4–5:1 on the primary unit (estimates, not guarantees)
• Practice within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with applicable state nursing practice standards; flu vaccination required November 1 – April 1 (exemptions subject to client approval)

Required Qualifications

• Current RN License – must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required

Minimum 1+ year of Telemetry experienceAbility to manage all cardiac drips and operate an EKG machinePreferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC EMR highly preferred
• Prior experience caring for patients with acute AFIB, CHF, post-operative vascular, or cardiac surgery populations
• Strong team-oriented mindset with a focus on positive patient outcomes and superior communication skills
