Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for a broad variety of medical surgical patients across a 15-bed unit with a 4–5:1 patient ratio
• Administer and monitor heparin drips in accordance with facility protocols
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring in collaboration with the tele tech unit
• Float across multiple campuses as needed to support patient care operations
• Serve as a charge nurse or preceptor when assigned, supporting team development and unit growth
• Adapt to an evolving unit culture by contributing positive attitudes, flexibility, and a willingness to mentor others

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months — first-time travelers are not accepted
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Experience with heparin administration required
• Recent charge nurse or preceptor experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Work history reflecting 24 months of continuous Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
