Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients across a newborn-to-geriatric population in a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Participate in patient and family teaching, ensuring patient rights and privacy are protected throughout care
• Collaborate cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other patient care team personnel to maintain professional nursing standards
• Uphold ethical and professional standards as defined by the ANA Code for Nurses, ANA Nursing's Social Policy Statement, and applicable state and specialty nursing standards
• Adhere to standards set by regulatory agencies including AOA, HCFA Conditions of Participation, and MIOSHA
• Maintain individual competence in nursing practice with responsible acceptance of individual actions and clinical judgments

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required (ENPC may be accepted in place of PALS)
• TNCC certification required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Candidates residing within 35 miles of the facility are considered local travelers and may be subject to an adjusted rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with a broad patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric
• Familiarity with Paragon EMR
• Comfort working in a 10-bed emergency department with a 4:1 patient ratio
