Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Read and interpret all cardiac rhythms using Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
• Care for a high-acuity patient population including post-pacer, new onset AFib/RVR, stepdown from ICU, stroke, TBI, sepsis, oncology with cardiac monitoring needs, urology, and patients with complex wound care needs
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing
• Float as needed to other units including MedSurg remote tele, MedSurg, ICU tele/MS holds, or ER holds
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules as assigned; must be available to report within 30 minutes if placed on standby/call

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms independently
• Ability to report to the facility within 30 minutes when placed on standby/call

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a telemetry or step-down unit setting
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Omnicell systems
• Experience caring for high-acuity patients including those with sepsis, TBI, stroke, or complex wound care needs
• Comfort working with CPAP/BiPAP (managed per Respiratory Therapy)
