Environmental Floor Technician

What You’ll Do

As a Floor Technician, you’ll play an important role in maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of our facilities. Responsibilities include:

• Perform general floor care, cleaning, and maintenance throughout University Health facilities.

• Operate floor cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

• Help keep floors clean, polished, and well maintained in patient care and public areas.

• Use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies according to established safety procedures.

• Follow Joint Commission, Texas Department of Health, University Health, and departmental guidelines.

• Identify and report maintenance concerns, spills, discarded needles or syringes, and other potential safety hazards.

• Assist team leaders with cleanup and proper disposal procedures when needed.

• Respond promptly to assigned duties and assist in other areas during urgent or emergency situations.

• Provide courteous, professional service when interacting with patients, visitors, and fellow employees.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.

• Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment.

• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

• Four years of previous floor care experience.

• Completion of work-related or on-the-job vocational training.
