Small family production machine shop looking for CNC Lathe machinist/programmer. 4 DAY WORK WEEK - NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS! PTO, $38-42 per hour/40 hours a week.
Duties:
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements .
- Plan out the most efficient machining process.
- Determine the best workholding and tooling for each job.
- Set up and program Lathe.
- Perform First Article inspection of parts, make necessary changes, then operate the job to completion.
- Create and maintain set up notes, work instructions, and inspection reports.
- Deburr parts if necessary.
- Prepare parts for subsequent operations, or clean and package for delivery.
- Extensive experience with Mazak CNC lathes and bar feeders preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC lathe tooling, workholding, speeds/feeds, and machining processes through a variety of metals and plastics.
- Ability to take a job from engineering drawing and raw material through setup, first article, and production with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to stand and operate machine for hours at a time.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints on a variety of part types.
- Ability to fill out inspection reports.
