Our client seeks a Systems Engineer III to integrate enterprise networking, data center virtualization, and cyber compliance within defense signal and communications environments. The role will plan and support administration, hardening, and troubleshooting of multi-enclave IP networks (ICAN/AGUN/GSN), virtualized compute clusters, and storage infrastructure aligned to DoW and DISA security standards. The engineer will communicate complex technical challenges, modernization plans, and risk postures through decision-quality briefings and documentation for the military chain of command. The position will link hands-on technical operations with senior leadership to keep mission-critical communications solutions secure, resilient, and aligned with operational objectives.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $65.00 to $80.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:- Plan, administer, harden, and troubleshoot multi-enclave IP networks across ICAN, AGUN, and GSN.
- Support virtualized compute clusters and storage infrastructure in accordance with DoW and DISA security standards.
- Integrate enterprise networking, data center virtualization, and cyber compliance within defense communications environments.
- Develop clear, decision-quality briefings and documentation for the military chain of command.
- Serve as the link between technical operations and senior leadership to ensure secure and resilient communications solutions.
- Minimum six years of network systems engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-enclave networks, virtualization platforms, and storage systems.
- Familiarity with DoW and DISA cybersecurity standards and compliance practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, testing, or related field. A BS may be substituted with an additional seven years of related network systems engineering experience.
- Active Secret clearance or higher.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate.
