Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate CT and general diagnostic radiography (including portable procedures) according to protocol, using optimal techniques and parameters to produce quality images for patients of all ages — neonates through geriatric.
• Ensure proper patient positioning, prepare equipment, and monitor patient condition before, during, and after scanning; perform exam segmentation for PACS archive.
• Administer intravenous contrast injections as ordered by a physician; correctly modify positioning, slice thickness, and contrast administration as needed.
• Explain procedures to patients, gather pertinent history, and review contrast history questionnaire forms; report critical findings to appropriate personnel and assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary.
• Accurately enter data into the HIS system and use the RIS to capture patient visits, charge information, procedural codes, and resource usage.
• Adhere to all radiation safety measures, infection control policies, National Patient Safety Goals, and DNV standards; communicate departmental productivity or performance improvement concerns to management.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Active ARRT certification required.
• Active Virginia (VA) state license required — submissions without a VA license will not be considered.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist and CT Technologist.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required by the schedule.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 years of clinical experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
• Knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Experience working in a critical access or similar acute care environment.
