Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13–26 week contracts accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio, managing diagnoses including diabetes, CHF, sepsis, COPD, renal failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, and various surgical recovery cases
• Perform telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias via remote monitoring
• Manage and maintain central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and other advanced clinical equipment
• Administer blood products, heparin, insulin, and PCA; perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws
• Float to other Medical Surgical units and a main campus location as required; every other weekend required; must be available to work holidays
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN experience required
• Must be available to work holidays (expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays) and every other weekend; no block scheduling accepted (exception: Friday–Monday weekend blocks)
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with wound care, wound VAC, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Familiarity with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR communication framework
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
