Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed
Start Time: 7:00 AM until the day's installations are complete
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire

Installer – Furniture & FF&E

Workforce Solutions is hiring dependable Installers to join a growing commercial installation team in Richmond, VA. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with tools, assembling furniture, handling materials, and working with a crew to complete projects at commercial customer locations.

The Installer will be responsible for delivering, assembling, positioning, and installing furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) according to project plans and customer specifications. Candidates with experience as a Furniture Installer, FF&E Installer, Installation Technician, Construction Laborer, Mover, or Warehouse Associate are encouraged to apply.

Previous furniture installation experience is preferred, but candidates with strong construction, moving, warehouse, mechanical, or assembly experience may also be considered.

What You'll Do

Furniture & FF&E Installation

  • Perform furniture installation and commercial FF&E installation at customer locations.
  • Assemble and install office furniture, workstations, modular furniture, shelving, fixtures, and commercial equipment.
  • Follow installation plans, layouts, work orders, and customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and installation instructions.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, and install furniture and equipment.
  • Measure, level, align, and position furniture and fixtures to ensure a proper installation.
  • Inspect completed furniture installation work for quality, accuracy, and appearance.
  • Make minor adjustments and troubleshoot installation issues when needed.
  • Work with other Installers and crew members to complete commercial installation projects safely and efficiently.

Material Handling

  • Load, unload, transport, stage, and organize furniture and installation materials.
  • Safely lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance when needed.
  • Protect customer property, floors, walls, furniture, and equipment during delivery and installation.
  • Keep tools, materials, and work areas organized throughout the installation process.
  • Assist with moving and positioning large commercial furniture and FF&E.

Customer Service

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while working at customer locations.
  • Communicate project updates, delays, damaged materials, or installation concerns to the Crew Leader.
  • Follow customer site requirements and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Represent the company professionally during every commercial installation.

Safety & Quality

  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and properly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report damaged materials, unsafe conditions, or installation problems promptly.
  • Complete each installation according to project specifications and company quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Installer, Furniture Installer, FF&E Installer, Installation Technician, Construction Laborer, Mover, or Warehouse Associate preferred.
  • Previous furniture installation or commercial installation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with FF&E installation, furniture assembly, construction, moving, warehouse operations, or material handling preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, layouts, drawings, or installation instructions is preferred.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools, including drills, impact drivers, saws, levels, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an installation crew.
  • Comfortable working at different customer locations and job sites.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active Installer position. The job requires:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and positioning materials up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Using hand tools and power tools throughout the workday.
  • Working indoors and outdoors depending on the installation project.
  • Working in commercial buildings, warehouses, customer facilities, and other job sites.
  • Performing physical work for extended periods of time.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday–Friday schedule.
  • 7:00 AM start time.
  • Work continues until the day's scheduled installations are completed.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
  • Overtime may be available depending on workload and customer needs.
  • Crew members report to the designated meeting location before traveling together to customer job sites.

Dress Code & Job Site Requirements

  • Closed-toe shoes are required.
  • Shorts are permitted.
  • Required PPE must be worn at customer locations and job sites.
  • Employees are expected to maintain a clean, professional appearance.
