Northwell Health is seeking a full-time Chief of Vascular Surgery at Peconic Bay Medical Center. Previous leadership experience is preferred.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and grow a Vascular Surgery service line serving Long Island's East End. The qualified candidate will oversee a collaborative environment with experienced surgical colleagues and advanced practice providers.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Vascular Surgery division, including clinical operations, staffing, and program development

  • Maintain an active clinical practice, including open and endovascular procedures

  • Develop engagement, alignment, and collaboration with referring physicians and other clinical departments across the health system

  • Lead initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and program development

  • Advance departmental growth through strategic planning, recruitment, and service line expansion

  • Partner with hospital and system leadership on administrative, financial, and operational priorities

  • Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, diversity, and physician engagement

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

  • Board Certification in Vascular Surgery

  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New York

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an academic or clinically integrated health system environment

  • A proven track record of clinical excellence, physician engagement, and program growth

  • Experience in both open and minimally invasive/endovascular techniques

About Peconic Bay Medical Center

Peconic Bay Medical Center is a dynamic, growing 144-bed acute care hospital located in Riverhead, NY, serving the East End of Long Island. PBMC has recently developed a cranial neurosurgical program to augment their spine program; they have a newly built interventional radiology suite with state-of-the-art equipment; PBMC is currently an American College of Surgeons Trauma Level III Center with plans in the next 24 months to grow to a Level II. They were the first community hospital in Northwell to support critically ill and injured patients with CVVHD; they have a newly built biplane room to support neurointerventional (and vascular) procedures.
