Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (12-hour shifts, 7am–7pm) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined adult and pediatric Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio across a 45-bed unit
• Manage a fast-paced patient population with an average length of stay of 3 days, including diagnoses such as COPD, post-op recovery, GI bleeds, OB/GYN surgeries, orthopedic cases, sepsis, altered mental status, chest pain rule-out, stroke, cellulitis, and ETOH withdrawal
• Titrate and manage drips including Heparin and Protonix as required
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Participate in on-call and standby requirements as scheduled; adhere to every-other-weekend or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and rotate into holiday staffing
• Wear Navy Blue scrubs per unit dress code policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California (or compact license eligibility)
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with rapid patient turnover

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric Med/Surg experience strongly preferred; candidates without pediatric experience will not be assigned to pediatric patients
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with Heparin and Protonix drip management
• Prior experience in OB or telemetry settings (optional float opportunities available for qualified candidates)
