Assistant Property Manager – Commercial Real Estate

A Manhattan-based real estate development company is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support daily property operations, tenant relations, maintenance, and construction-related projects across new and existing properties. The ideal candidate has commercial property management experience and a working knowledge of construction drawings and building systems.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate vendors, service contracts, preventive maintenance, tenant requests, and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular property visits, maintain tenant relationships, and help prevent and resolve property violations.
• Assist with maintenance and capital project budgets and review tenant leases for compliance.
• Maintain property plans, as-built drawings, and tenant construction handbooks.
• Coordinate and track building department filings, permits, project closeouts, and DOB violation resolution.
• Perform area calculations and material takeoffs.
• Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and maintain project correspondence.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of property management experience; shopping center and office property experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of construction drawings, building systems, and commercial building codes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Availability for emergencies, including weekends and holidays.
