Van Driver - Transportation - Catskill area

Van Drivers in our Transportation Department in Catskill work split shifts (mornings and afternoons), Monday through Friday, transporting individuals with disabilities. Drivers must exhibit a high degree of competence and responsibility for the safety of passengers being transported.

A high school diploma or GED is desired. A valid New York State Class B or C driver's license with/without Passenger Endorsement, or Class D and a driving record acceptable to The Arc Mid-Hudson and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment.

And we offer paid CDL training! New hires will be expected to successfully obtain CDL license with Passenger Endorsement within 90 days of first day of employment.

HOURS: Monday through Friday/morning, afternoon and split shifts available

STARTING SALARY:

$ 21.17 to $ 23.29 per hour for Driver without CDL/Passenger endorsement

$ 23.17 to $ 25.49 per hour for Driver with CDL/Passenger endorsement

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 18 years’ of age with 6-months driving experience.
• Must have a current and acceptable New York State Driver’s License which meets acceptable standards of the agency’s automobile insurance company.
• Currently hold a CDL A, B or C (with a P endorsement) or the ability to acquire. The ability, when necessary, to become Article 19A qualified.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disability preferred.
