CDL B Driver

What You'll Do

• Safely operate and position a TMA vehicle in stationary and mobile work zones. 
• Maintain proper following distance, lane position, and speed based on traffic control plans and roadway conditions. 
• Monitor traffic, mirrors, warning devices, radio communications, and changing work-zone conditions. 
• Operate arrow boards, warning lights, and other traffic control equipment. 
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. 
• Assist with loading, unloading, setting, and removing cones, signs, and traffic control devices as needed. 
• Follow traffic control plans, company safety procedures, and applicable motor vehicle requirements. 
• Communicate with supervisors, crew members, contractors, and others on the jobsite. 
• Complete required vehicle, inspection, time, and job documentation. 
• Respond appropriately to incidents, vehicle impacts, breakdowns, and changing work-zone conditions. 
• Maintain a clean vehicle and protect assigned equipment and company property. 
• Perform other traffic control and field duties as assigned. 

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle with an acceptable driving record. 
• Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and current medical certification when required for the assigned vehicle or operation. 
• Ability to safely follow verbal, written, and radio instructions in active work zones. 
• Ability to remain alert for extended periods and make safe decisions around moving traffic. 
• Reliable attendance and ability to report to changing jobsites and schedules. 
• Ability to meet applicable pre-employment and ongoing requirements, including motor vehicle review, drug and alcohol testing, and physical capability requirements. 

Preferred Experience

• Previous TMA driving, commercial driving, traffic control, or roadway construction experience. 
• Work-zone traffic control or TMA training. 
• Experience working around highway traffic, construction crews, and mobile operations.
