Custodial Field Supervisor
Columbus, Georgia • Multi-Site • Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Custodial Field Supervisor to oversee custodial operations across multiple client locations in and around Columbus, Georgia. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in commercial cleaning who can manage, train, and motivate custodial staff while ensuring consistent quality standards at every site.
Position Details
Location: Columbus, Georgia & Surrounding Areas (Multi-Site, Travel Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time & Part Time
Schedule: Flexible – Must be available days, nights, and weekends
Travel: Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation required
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Travel between multiple client sites daily to supervise, inspect, and support custodial staff
• Conduct site inspections to ensure cleaning standards, quality expectations, and contract requirements are met
• Assign daily tasks, manage staff schedules, and adjust workloads to account for absences or changing priorities
• Train new and existing custodial staff on proper cleaning procedures, chemical handling, equipment use, and safety protocols
• Serve as the primary point of contact between custodial staff and management; communicate job site updates and concerns
• Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and performance; document and report issues to management
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and disciplinary documentation as needed
• Ensure all staff follow OSHA safety standards and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Perform hands-on custodial duties as needed to cover absences or assist with special cleaning projects
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment across sites; coordinate restocking and equipment maintenance
• Respond to client concerns, complaints, or special requests and ensure prompt resolution
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports on site status, staff performance, and supply needs to management
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements & Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities services – required
• Strong working knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical safety
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable across multiple locations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously
• Strong communication skills; able to interact professionally with staff, clients, and management
• Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
• Proficiency with basic reporting, scheduling, and documentation (written or digital)
• Reliable, punctual, and professional with a strong work ethic and problem-solving mindset
• High school diploma or GED required; additional training or certifications in facilities management a plus
• Must be flexible with shift availability; days, nights, and weekends are all required based on business
