The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) administers medications and supports resident care under the clinical oversight of the Director of Nursing. This role monitors resident well-being, maintains accurate clinical documentation, coordinates care, and promotes safety, infection control, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately and safely.
  • Monitor residents and measure vital signs.
  • Document clinical information in electronic health records.
  • Report adverse reactions and medication errors promptly.
  • Coordinate care with the Director of Nursing and care team.
  • Follow infection control, HIPAA, and safety compliance procedures.
  • Maintain medication inventory and support medication error prevention.
  • Assist residents with daily needs while promoting safety.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in medication administration.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Knowledge of medication administration, medication error prevention, electronic health records, vital signs measurement, infection control, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
